Terms and Conditions

 

In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I, for myself, my executors, heirs, administrators, and assigns, do hereby release and discharge MiWay Wally Hayward Marathon, Alpha Centurion Athletics Club, national and provincial bodies, any and all sponsors, any and all volunteer groups, all medical personnel, any and all local authorities from all claims for injuries, damage or property loss that I may suffer caused by the negligence of any of them and arising out of my participation in the event, including pre and post-race activities, I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate in this endurance event and assume all risks for such participation.

 

I agree to abide by the rules of this race as well as the rules of ASA and AGN and the race conditions and regulations, which include the terms of payment of the entry fee, and will comply with them.

Entry fees, as well as additional purchases, are not refundable: In the unlikely event of the race being cancelled, entry fees as well as additional purchases will not be refunded, returned, cancelled or exchanged on account of the weather or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organisers.

In entering the MiWay Wally Hayward Marathon, the participant understands that the Organising Committee will take photographs and video of the event including participants to the event and he/she consents to such photographs and video being taken at the event and being used for promotional and publicity purposes at the Organising Committee’s sole discretion. The participant further understands and accepts that the photographs and video are and will remain the property of the sponsors and/or organisers.

In entering the MiWay Wally Hayward Marathon, the participant understands that the Organising Committee will communicate via email, sms and WhatsApp to all participants.

All the pre-ordered T-shirts which has not been collected by the end of the event will be donated to charity.

Wally Hayward 2024 Competition Terms and Conditions

 

By participating in this Competition, Participants agree to the rules set out below. 

 

  1. Introduction

 

  1. Participation in this Competition is governed by these terms and conditions (the “Rules”). You, as the participant, are encouraged to review the Rules before entering into the Competition and acknowledge that  you have been given an appropriate opportunity to do so and that  you understand and accept these Rules.

  2. This competition is operated by MiWay in collaboration with the Wally Hayward Marathon event organisers.

  3. Your participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Rules and you agree to abide by these Rules.

 

  1. Eligibility

 

2.1 This Competition is limited to legal residents and/or legal citizens of the Republic of South Africa. In addition, the following people shall not be eligible to participate in this Competition:

2.1.1 Directors, members, partners, promotional and advertising agents, merchandisers, employees or consultants of the Promoters.

2.1.2 Spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of any of the persons specified above.

  1. The competition is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

    1. Participants must opt in for an obligation-free quote from MiWay to enter the competition.

 

 

  1. How to enter

To be entered into the competition, follow the instructions given on the original post.

  1. To enter the competition, participants must request an obligation-free quote from MiWay for any of their product offerings during the competition period.

 

  1. Only one entry per person is allowed for the avoidance of doubt one quote equals one entry.

  2. The entrant must provide accurate, current, and complete information when getting a quote to participate in the competition.

 

  1. Winner Notification

 

  1. The winner/s will be determined by a lucky draw that will be done on race day at the venue.

  2. Following the lucky draw, written communication will be supplied to participants, 14 days prior to the announcements via email/phone after the competition ends.

  3. Where applicable, the prize cannot be substituted for cash or any other form and is not transferrable.

  4. Once the winner has been selected, the winner will be announced on the MiWay social media platforms.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Publicity

 

  1. By entering the competition, participants agree to the use of their name and image in any publicity material related to the competition, including social media posts and marketing materials.

  2. Should your name be announced, and you are not at the race we will make use of the contact details received from your obligation free quote in order to reach you. Entrants must supply true and complete information at all times.

  3. Winners will have two months from the date of notification to respond and claim their prize, after which they may forfeit their prize at the sole discretion of MiWay.

 

  1. Competition Period

 

  1. The Competition will commence on 2nd of January 2024 at 00:00:01am and will end on Sunday, 14 April 2024 at 23:59:59pm (“Promotional Period”). No entries received after the 14 April 2024 at 23:59:59pm will be considered.

 

  1. Data Protection

 

  1. Any personal information collected in connection with this competition will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition.

  2. Entrants permit MiWay and its campaign partners to process their personal data about participation in the competition. MiWay and its campaign partner(s) will safely store all entrants’ and applicants’ personal information in its database, which is confidential and will be treated in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.

 

 

  1. Changes

 

  1. The competition organizer reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the organizer's control.

 

  1. The Prizes

 

  1. Participants in this competition stand a chance to be one of the 10 lucky winners to win a share of R100 000 cash prizes when entering for the Wally Hayward Marathon. The 10 winners will be announced at the Wally Hayward Marathon on 1 May 2024.

 

  1. Claiming your Prize

 

  1. All participants will be entered into random lucky draws that will be held on 1 May 2024.

  2. A total of 10 winners will be selected from the above-mentioned lucky draw (1 winner per draw).

  3. The voucher will be transferred into the winners South African bank account.

  4. At the time that a potential prize winner is identified, the potential prize winner will receive a call / email or SMS from a representative of the Promoters on their number.

  5. If the Promotors are unable to reach any of the potential prize winners after 3 (three) attempts made within 3 (three) working days of their mobile number being drawn, for whatsoever reason, including incorrect telephone numbers or inoperative telephone numbers or no answer, such a potential winner will be disqualified and a redraw will be executed subject to the terms and conditions herein. A potential prize winner will also have 48 hours to produce the relevant documentation before forfeiting the prize and a runner up chosen.

  6. If the Promotors are unable to reach any of the potential prize winners after 3 (three) attempts made within 3 (three) working days of their mobile number being drawn, for whatsoever reason, including incorrect telephone numbers or inoperative telephone numbers or no answer, such a potential winner will be disqualified and a redraw will be executed.

 

  1. General

 

1. The purchase of a policy is not necessary to enter the competition.

  1. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

  2. The prize is not transferable, and no substitution or cash redemption of prizes is permitted.   The prize will not be handed/awarded to a third party, but only to the verified prize winner.

  3. The Promoters reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to substitute the prize with any other prize of comparable or greater commercial value for whatever reason.

  4. Only one entry per person is allowed for the avoidance of doubt one quote equals one entry.

  5. Previous competition winners may enter.

  6. MiWay reserves the right to remove any entries, if seen as spam, derogatory, offensive or obscene in nature or  participants behave in manner outside the fair spirit of the competition.
